Increase Rebase Frequency and Reduce Rebase Quantity
Increase rebase frequency, and reduce the amount of YAMs rebased proportionately.
Currently, there is roughly two hours of the day that the rebase can be executed: the time that the rebase can be executed up to 1 hour, which occur two times per day.
There are a variety of factors that motivate non-use of the rebase mechanism. We could attribute elevated gas cost at the time of the rebase window as a demotivating factor. We would also have to rely on a user to be online to execute the rebase, but users have lives outside of the YAM universe therefore reducing this opportunity.
By increasing frequency, we have more opportunity to take advantage of more favorable gas costs. We also give more users opportunity to execute the rebase. By reducing YAM rebase quantity, we don’t change the current amount of YAMs that can be rebased per day. There is also a slimmer chance of the YAM rebases to significantly impact the price of YAMs.
We would just need to change the frequency of the rebases and reduce the amount of YAMs rebased by the number of increased rebases.
